The Leigh Group, formed in 1982, is one of the six groups of the Liverpool and South West Lancashire Family History Society. Meetings are held in the Derby Room at Leigh Library throughout the winter months These are held on the third Tuesday of each month except July, August and December, and start at 7.30 pm, but a Help Desk is available from 7.00 p.m Our meetings usually have a family history related speaker but members are always able to browse and borrow books from the Group's library.
Our Help Desk is due to re-commence from 1st July but will be run slightly differently from before.
We are not going to have enquirers coming into the Archives due to the Covid restrictions. Instead they will be ask to complete a form and return it to the Archive staff. Our volunteers will then deal with them and return the details to the Archives staff who will send the results to the enquirers.
AS THE SERVICE IS VIRTUAL, ANYONE WITH A QUERY ABOUT THEIR FAMILY HISTORY WILL NEED TO COMPLETE A FORM WHICH IS AVAILABLE FROM THE RECEPTION DESK, OR BY EMAILING: firstname.lastname@example.org or CALLING 01942 404430
Please go to our programme page for details of what has been arranged so far.
