My Ancestors Were Londoners. 3rd edition. Cliff Webb
Cliff Webb, author of many London research guides, introduces the basics of London research, includes a gazetteer of London places by parish, hundred and other useful geographical denominations. One-sixth of the population of England and Wales live in the London area. Most genealogists therefore will have, sooner or later, to tackle the tracing of London ancestry. The book concentrates on the period 1600 900. Tracing London ancestors relies on much the same techniques used elsewhere, however with different emphasis. The topics in the contents sound general - but the information about each topic is specific to London. The book contains a mass of detail, with an excellent bibliography.
