Liverpool (Mount Pleasant) 1848
Taken from the five foot plans and reduced to a scale of a yard to the mile; these maps show a part of Liverpool in great detail and represents some of the Ordnance Survey's earliest large scale plans. Each map covers a small area; but the fine detail has to be seen to be believed - even the interiors of some public buildings (e.g. churches; theatres) are shown. . Historical introduction by Kay Parrott. Includes Mount Pleasant; Renshaw St; Brownlow Hill; Rodney St; Ranelagh Place; Bedford St. Liverpool Workhouse; St Luke's Church; Philharmonic Hall.
