Over the last few years, genealogists have learned through the media of scientific breakthroughs in using genetics, especially DNA, to prove family relationships. Both present-day and historical connections have been resolved using DNA. Not surprisingly, family historians have speculated amongst themselves whether such techniques could be useful for their type of research. This book sets out to explain this area of genetics in a language easily understood by a genealogist or any lay person, and to discuss how far this knowledge could be used to extend family history research
