Looking for something to occupy my time in this continuing lock down I looked through my book collection and re discovered this book.
Its not particularly about Family History but can shed light on how things were in those times.
Basically its the true story of a Victorian ship that left the UK and sailed into the N.Polar seas and disappeared, only being re discovered in 2014.
Palin has done intensive research into shipbuilding of the time and enlightened me as to how my London ancestors must have lived. A really good read.
Kindle edition is about £4. Paperback about £5 upwards.

Re: H.M.S EREBUS by Michael Palin
Michael Palin always has a good personality, I'm thinking it probably comes through in his writing. Something I might give a go, thanks for the recommendation.
