28 September is British Home Children Day, in honour of the thousands of children sent from Britain to Canada, Australia and other Commonwealth countries through child migration schemes from the 1860s until the late 1960s. Most of these children would never to return to see their families again.
Their stories were featured in our 2015 exhibition 'On their own: Britain's child migrants':https://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/mar ... fYZrSFShNQ
