Re: Company Director records

Hi all thanks for the responses. I have found him in 1939 living in Llandudno with his son Walter William Smith. Dora May Smith is his daughter. His name was Clifford Walter Smith. I think I have come across the entry for Clifford George Smith before. Apologies, I have just found a scribble of paper...

Company Director records

Hi all, still looking for the elusive Clifford Smith relative of my wife. I have a copy wedding certificate of his son and on it Clifford is shown in 1937 as being a Director of an undertaker's furnishers. I am pretty certain this was in Birkenhead or nearby, but the name escapes me for now. Are the...

Re: Ford cemetery record

Just as a footnote, further discussion and research led me to find the record. It was Ford cemetery but in 1898. Public grave 2364 unfortunately. One record shows James 'Hoy', the other 'Hoey'.

Thank you both as ever for your assistance.

Re: Ford cemetery record

A is definitely public, and at the farthest corner of the site. I agree that the page on Ancestry is a list of public burials there interrupted by a private one. I am a plonker. I have just realised that the James Hoey buried in AS 737 was interred in 1923 and not 1902. Sorry for sending you on a wi...

Re: Ford cemetery record

Sorry to say that I believe it will be in the X Public area, note the numbers above and afterwards, they are all without an area noted and will be public graves. Thanks Mary, although the James Hoey on page 226 buried 22nd May as mentioned above is in AS 737. The 2 men must be different but have th...

Re: Ford cemetery record

Thanks Bert. I have also found the following and wondering if this must be a different person, and in a different grave?

Page 226 Liverpool, England, Catholic Burials, 1813-1985 for James Hoey. Ford Cemetery 1884-1965. 22nd May 58 Dublin Street grave AS 737.

Re: Trying to find a mother

The infant 1891 appears to be Mary Kate, registered June Qtr 1891. Mary looks favourite to be the mother of George and Elizabeth. With George Broughton as the unmarried father of both? Maybe explains why young Elizabeth is sent back to Louth and in the 1901 and 1911 returns? Looking at a map, Grang...
