Just to confirm. GRO has BLEAKLEY as MMN for birth registrations for both Stella and Leah.

Good to have belt and braces.

Re: Agnes Whitton

The 2 entries on FREEBMD for Agnes Whitton 1856 take you to the same page.

One is very poorly filmed and difficult to read. It is however the same page by reference to the entries that can be read more easily.

Naval History

I came across this site recently. Very good for Royal Navy Officers Non Commissioned Officers Example- I was looking for Peter Schuyler Bruff. Have a look at the record for him. Not fully complete as he was actually in the RN pre 1780 as they say but nevertheless a great resource. https://threedecks...

Re: Military medals.

Recipients of the George Medal are listed in the London Gazette. Try entering his name. Try all possibilities such as Name and Surname; Surname and name; Surname and initials and of course initial followed by Surname. It appears that Full Name followed by Surname should find him. https://www.thegaze...

Re: CURRIE Family

A bit confused here. John Robert Tooth ARDREY married Annie Ainsley CURRIE at Tonbridge on 26th March 1868 (NOT 1878). He is a shoe maker NOT a Basket Maker, although his father is a Basket Maker. In 1871 they are in Tonbridge with son Frank Edward 2 In 1881 they are in St Giles in the Field London ...

Surely Birth certificate for Geoffrey (1920) would show father's name. Of course it may be blank!

Forum Activity

Great to see the level of activity on the Forum seemingly picking up lately. I did once suggest that whenever any of us answers a query on the FB page that we refer to the Forum. I see that Bertione seems to be taking this a stage further and answering some directly on here. Whatever the reason for ...

The first was in 1858 and the 2nd in 1865. You have the 1858 one as yours with John's father as Edward (a gardener) and Eliza...

The manorial Records of Bold Hall may assist you. According to the MDR Cheshire Archives has a couple of collections containing maps from 1702 ( a bit early) and 1727-1730.
