Re: Virus

As I live in rural and had not heard of anyone, I was shocked to see that Rugby had had 10 is. Got fed up of adding the numbers. :(

Re: Whatever happened to Mary Grimes?

Can't be of any help about your Mary, ecept to say that the catholic church latinise the names. Mary would become Maria. My mum and all her family going back 3 generations lived in Gascoyne Street. My mum's grand mother kept the shop there until she died in 1935. All there cousins , in laws and ever...

Re: Prince Edwin Street

thanks for that map. Johnny. I found a Saccharine works in Paul street. I did not know such things existed. Also the Leeds Liverpool canal behind Gascoyne Street seems to suddenly stop. Was it filled in, or did it always stop there. I am sure it goes through to the Pier Head area now.
Thanks

Re: Peacock

In 1891 the family lived at Laburnum ?? He was a licensed Victualler then, I cannot read the second word. The head was Charles Eaton aged 26. That may be why it was called the Laburnum.

Married a distant cousin, because that is what I am looking at now to try to link with my DNA links. Thank you so much. That explains why some of his c...

Just been looking at Kelly's directory, for 1881, on Ancestry,. I have found Samuel Balmer of 355 Westminster Road , Kirkdale who has the word Peacock in italics next to his name, as if it was his occupation. Any ideas

Re: Pendleton Family c 1900 to 1910 in Bootle.

Thanks. I had not come across that type of error in the census return before. Why did they think she had only been married 2 years and 0 children, when the Maragaret I found had been married since 1906 and had 2 children.
Are my ideas on Thomas correct ? Thanks
