Re: Thomas Greenwood mitchell on 1911 census

Edward Clark(e) died 1898 in Blackburn. I have not got an exact d of b for Alice, but would be willing to send for a birth certificate if that would be useful. On a second point how do you use anc to get a census if you have the numbers and the address?? ] Most of my family are difficult to find. Th...

Re: Thomas Greenwood mitchell on 1911 census

Give up.... That is the answer. My great grandparents , William Mitchell and Eliza Agnes Harvey from Liverpool, had 7 or 8 children. 2 died as infants. Alice Mitchell b 1894 Widnes , is down Esther 's daughter in 1901 census. When I check the GRO mmn is given as Harvey, implying that she is child of...

Walter Carr b 1876

I thought I had asked about Walter before, but I have searched and can't find it. (Old age , I think) In the 1891 census, Walter is living at Giddy Gate Lane, Maghull. He is with Richard and Jane Manchester (My relatives). He seemed to have been left with the family at a very young age. His place of...

My daughter is moving and I would like to be able to find who lived in the house in 1911 (I think it was built then). I have ancestry , but don't seem to be able to search with an address. FMP would let me search, but I don't have a subscription so could get no further. The number is in the odd seve...

Re: 34, Gascoyne Street

Thanks for that. I am sure they kept a shop at that address or somewhere in the street. When Mary Jane Harrison Nee Howard died in 1935, probate was granted in 1939 to William Osborne , Shopkeeper's Manager. Oh for a time machine :D Thanks Lynne

34, Gascoyne Street

Hi, my mother's family lived at this address from 1874 until it was demolished in 1940 ish. I have a photo of my Great Grand mother standing out side their shop, which I believe was at this address. The electoral roll for 1885 says it was a house and shop. Could anybody help me find out more about t...
