Re: Magnay/McNay and Porter and Thwaite puzzle

Thanks for trying Johnny, yes I've spent quite a while searching but I'm grateful if anything can be turned up.

PS We have tied Lambert Street in to Daniel in censuses and Ann for the burial, so we know we have the right people, but it's earlier that's causing the problem.

Magnay/McNay and Porter and Thwaite puzzle

Morning all, I thought I'd see if anybody has any suggestions for me to help research a puzzle. St Bride's Church 15 September 1844 marriage between Daniel Thwaite, Full Age, Bachelor, Shoemaker, Lambert Street Father William Thwaite, Shoemaker and Ann Porter, Full Age, Widow, West Dingle Father Wil...

Re: Absent Voters List 1918-1921

If you are willing to wait, I believe the GRO is still at work and will supply certificates albeit slower than usual. Even at the date you are looking, you can order a .pdf file at a much cheaper price of £7 than ordering from a local office.

I don't know where else there'd be a record which would show that although there are 54 results on FindMyPast but I don't have a subscription, just a few credits left! Please familiarise yourself with the UKBMD sites, particularly for Liverpol LancashireBMD.org.uk, where if the marriage took place ...

That's excellent, I love it when people still have such documents, deeds are going to be almost obsolete in the future since everything is now digitised and lodged in Swansea? I think.

I wonder if the August and September Roads you saw were off Lower Breck Road, where there is an April Grove on the map https://www.google.com/maps/place/April ... -2.9409954

Re: Prince Edwin Street

Haven't found any sign of a Prince Edward Street, but I suspect Prince Edwin Street had many Court housing etc. off it. This is a link to the "P" streets circa 1900 http://justme.org.uk/code/streets.html#P but of course you may mean quite a lot earlier. At this date no sign of an April Grove either ...

Good luck with it Hilary, and thanks for that suggestion Bert, it looks quite logical so long as you don't mind the credits to everybody down the pages. (From another in solitary confinement).

I hope all her photographs find homes. True John, our future means of contact is going to be online and Journal so it will be really good if you could obtain an image and post it perhaps on here and our Facebook Group and send a copy with the story to the Editor. Good luck with this.

Re: Walton Free Parochial Cemetery Rice Lane map?

Unfortunately as you see from checking the page of the Burial, Grave 44Y is occupied by at least three others buried on the same day and if you were to check earlier pages then there are probably a number of others also, meaning that it was a general grave rather than a private paid for one and ther...
