Richard Daglish "Daggers"

I'm very sorry to pass on the sad news of our friend Daggers passing. He was a long standing member of our Society, number 33 and attended the same night school course prior to the inception of our Society, together with Joyce and Harold Culling. He was a stalwart of our Forum and responded often to...

Re: GRO marriage records puzzle

You will notice that most of the others stand out in bold, however the two entries for your James are not. Those in bold have been double checked and entered once again independently, whereas with yours two different transcribers have read the number differently. Glad retiringtype will be submitting...

Retiringtype has replied to me on the Facebook Group and pointed me in the direction of the correct page on the National Archives for this.

Re: Szabo

A hint for searching them on Ancestry, only about every fifth year is indexed, however you can use the drop down year box at the top to browse the in between years.

Re: Florence Louise Wheatstone

Do remember our Journal as it would be a great way for us to share the story.

Good luck with the preparations for creating your online presentation, if you have any hints, especially about adding sound, do let me know as we are hoping to do something similar for our members on our website.

Re: Florence Louise Wheatstone

Sounds as if there is going to be a lot of variety in it Alex, what will you do at the end of your research ie, will it be published? perhaps in our Journal? I for one would love to read it and I'm sure many others would too.

Re: Szabo

I would start with the Street/Trade directories and see what you come up with, got to be something there, there are may on Ancestry but it's possible you might need to check with the Library and book the microfilms. That name has always stuck in my mind from when I was at school and they showed us t...

Re: Mother of MARY ANN MORRIS born circa 1854 in Liverpool

You can actually do that search on Findmypast, maybe get a two week free trial if you feel you need it. I can tell you that I've done a search and find that the only census for the 1851 and 1861 are the ones that you have found with Thomas, joiner and daughter Mary Ann, born around the correct date....

Re: National Service

Hi Dave, I wish I could be more positive but I'm assuming you are looking at WWII records and these aren't as plentifully available as those for WWI, alhtough there are some. We would help with a few searches if you would care to give us some dates and name, otherwise I think it would mean applying ...

Re: Liverpool Walker Art Gallery

Did contact the art gallery who said they’d have a look but would take longer than normal because of working hours. That's understandable at the moment, isn't it. However on a group site I saw a photo of The Liverpool Art School......I think this is more likely don’t you. That sounds very likely to...

I've had a message to pass on to you, hope you find it useful Many records are held at the National Archives however there are some at Cheshire Archives.
